Towing a Leased Car in Atlanta: What You Need to Know

Towing a leased vehicle involves a few extra considerations that don't apply to owned cars. Your lease agreement specifies towing requirements, and the leasing company may have preferences about how and where your vehicle is towed. Here's what to know before you call for a tow.

Check your roadside assistance coverage first. Most lease agreements from Toyota Financial, Ford Credit, BMW Financial Services, and similar lenders include complimentary roadside assistance during the lease term. This coverage typically includes towing to the nearest authorized dealer. Check your glove box documentation or the manufacturer's app before calling an independent tow company.

Towing destination matters on a lease. If your lease requires repair at an authorized dealer (which many do for warranty work), confirm the tow destination before we dispatch. We can take you to any dealer or repair facility you specify.

Flatbed is required for many leased vehicles. Most leased luxury vehicles, EVs, and AWD vehicles must be flatbed-towed. The lease agreement may specify this. Atlanta Towing Service always uses flatbed for vehicles that require it — we'll ask about your vehicle type on the call.

Document everything. If your leased vehicle is involved in an accident, photograph all damage before towing. Note any existing damage on the tow receipt. This protects you from lease-end damage claims for damage that occurred during or before the tow.
