I-675 is Atlanta's southern bypass — a 15-mile freeway connecting I-285 near Ellenwood in south DeKalb County to I-75 near Stockbridge in Henry County. While shorter than Atlanta's other interstates, I-675 carries significant freight traffic bypassing Atlanta's congested core and serves as the primary highway corridor for Stockbridge, McDonough, and the rapidly growing Henry County suburbs.

I-675's relatively shorter length is offset by its high truck traffic density and the challenging merge conditions at both ends: the I-285/I-675 interchange in south DeKalb and the I-75/I-675 interchange near Stockbridge both require careful navigation under breakdown conditions.
