Classic Car Towing That Treats Your Investment Correctly
Atlanta has a substantial collector car community — from the Buckhead and Sandy Springs owners with European exotics to the Marietta and Cobb County muscle car crowd, and the vintage truck and hot rod builders throughout the metro. Classic and antique vehicles are irreplaceable assets, and the way they're towed matters in ways it simply doesn't for a daily driver. A wrong strap placement on a '67 Camaro can crack a freshly painted quarter panel. A wheel-lift on a '63 Corvette can stress suspension geometry that took months to restore. We don't take these calls casually.
Classic car towing is flatbed-only without exception. Beyond the drivetrain considerations that apply to many old vehicles (non-synchronized transmissions that can't be put in neutral easily, parking brakes that are unreliable), flatbeds protect the entire undercarriage from the leverage forces that wheel-lift and dolly towing apply to frame and suspension mounting points. Vintage vehicles were not designed with towing attachment points — flatbed keeps all four wheels on a stable deck and eliminates those forces entirely.
Our procedure: call the owner and ask about any non-standard features, fragile paint, recently restored components, or items to avoid. Arrive and photograph all four sides of the vehicle before any loading. Use soft loop straps through wheel wells and around frame contact points. Load at minimum angle. Transport at controlled speeds, avoiding sudden braking. These are not extras — they are standard procedure for every classic car call.

Antique Car Towing Atlanta FAQ
How do you tow a classic or antique car without damaging it?
Classic and antique cars require flatbed towing — never wheel-lift or dolly — to avoid stressing vintage drivetrains and suspension systems. On the flatbed, we use soft loop straps routed through wheel openings or around frame rails at appropriate points, avoiding contact with body panels, chrome trim, running boards, and any restored or original finish. Loading angle is minimized, and pre-load condition photos are taken before we touch the vehicle.
What classic cars do you tow in Atlanta?
All classic, vintage, and antique vehicles: American muscle (Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, Charger, GTO, Chevelle, Nova), vintage trucks (Ford F-100, Chevy C10), European classics (Porsche 356/911, Mercedes pagoda, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar E-Type), vintage Japanese imports (Datsun 240Z, Toyota 2000GT), pre-war vehicles, hot rods, restorations in progress, and all other collector vehicles regardless of era or condition.
What if my classic car doesn't run and can't be rolled onto the flatbed?
Non-running classic cars — seized engines, failed brakes, suspension failures, or project vehicles with no drivetrain — are winch-loaded onto the flatbed using a controlled cable pull. For vehicles that won't roll at all, we use a combination of dollies under the non-rolling wheels to allow the car to be maneuvered onto the deck without sliding on its brake drums or frame rails. This is standard procedure for restoration tows and non-runner recovery.
Do you tow classic cars to car shows in Atlanta?
Yes — many of our classic car towing calls are non-emergency transport to shows, concours events, and collector meetups around Atlanta and the Georgia metro. We also handle transport to and from restoration shops, auction pickups, and winter storage facilities. These transports are scheduled in advance and we confirm all equipment and procedures with the owner before loading.
