Sports cars present unique towing challenges centered on one issue: ground clearance. A C8 Corvette Z06 has 4.0 inches of front clearance in standard mode. A 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 sits at about 4.3 inches. A modified Honda S2000 with coilovers may be at 3.5 inches. Standard flatbed loading angles — typically 8–10 degrees — will drag every one of these cars on loading, causing damage to the front air dam, underbody panel, or exhaust.

Alloy wheel protection matters on sports cars with wide performance wheels. Large-diameter alloy wheels (19–21 inch diameter is common) are expensive and easily marked by metal strap hardware.
